GIEVSS unveils three new publications for fleet electrification - opinion survey, practical guide and legal FAQ
Long driven by individual purchases, the all-electric market is increasingly supported by organisations renewing their vehicle fleets. Recent policy pressure around fleet greening has accelerated this shift. Aware of the difficulties faced by some companies and public bodies, GIEVSS is focusing on support and awareness to help remove the remaining barriers.
GIEVSS is publishing a new edition of its practical guide for companies and local authorities wishing to electrify their fleets. This publication is accompanied by a detailed FAQ and is based on an opinion survey of fleet managers that takes stock of business electrification.
An opinion survey confirming the acceleration of the movement: 90% of companies plan to buy 100% electric vehicles within three years
The survey of fleet managers reveals significant progress in electrification. The results show that most respondents have targets above regulatory thresholds, with 90% of companies planning to include electric vehicles in their vehicle renewals over the next three years.
However, the survey also highlights persistent challenges: while 75% of respondents consider fleet greening important in their ESG strategy, 20% of companies still have no electric vehicles. The survey also shows that 90% of managers believe electrification generates additional work time, underlining the importance of support during this transition.

An operational guide in three key stages
With a fully redesigned structure, the new GIEVSS guide, "Electrifying your vehicle fleet: good practices for a successful transition", proposes a methodology structured around three phases:
- Define and plan a fleet electrification strategy, by assessing needs, uses, constraints and charging options;
- Deploy the operational solution, including vehicle selection, charging infrastructure and internal organisation;
- Manage and optimize over time, by monitoring performance, user adoption, costs and charging behaviour.
The guide also addresses tax and regulatory aspects with four topical sheets: electric mobility taxation, benefits in kind, purchase support and regulations covering charging in car parks.

A legal FAQ to secure professional processes
In parallel with the guide, GIEVSS is publishing a complete legal FAQ that answers the most frequent questions from fleet managers. This FAQ provides legal references and regulatory clarification to support companies in their electrification processes with legal certainty.
"Electrifying a fleet is not simply a matter of replacing combustion vehicles with electric vehicles. It is a genuine transformation project that requires a methodical approach, appropriate governance and, above all, quality support. Our survey confirms this: fleet managers express a need for specific training."
